Agreement marks Nordea’s first entry into the Australian market
SYDNEY, 3 SEPTEMBER 2025
Nordea Asset Management has been selected by Impact Alpha Partners (IAP) to join their panel of specialist investment managers for building improved climate-aware global equity strategies.
Nordea is a leading European asset manager and the largest among the Nordics with €286b in assets under management. Nordea’s reputation places it at the forefront of innovation in responsible investing for institutional clients across Europe, the Americas and Asia.
Nordea’s inclusion in IAP’s Multi-Emulation Portfolios* (MEPs) marks their introduction to the Australian market. The MEP approach provides IAP’s clients the benefits of combining the expertise of world-class specialist managers into one integrated portfolio that targets further improvements in portfolio outcomes.
Andrew Huang, CEO and Head of Investment Solutions & Partnerships: “We are excited to bring our clients the benefit of Nordea’s expertise within our MEP solutions. Nordea has one of the longest standing track records in climate-aware investing, further supported by one of the deepest RI teams in Europe.”
Christophe Girondel, Global Head of Distribution, Nordea Asset Management: “From our experience working with Impact Alpha Partners throughout the manager selection process, it’s evident that they strive to be at the forefront of integrating environmental risks and opportunities into investment strategies.”
Founded in 2023, IAP’s continuing mission is to drive impact and alpha outcomes for investors. By consistently delivering this, IAP believes they can accelerate the transition to a more resilient world.
Girondel added that: “With over 17 years of climate investing experience and €286bn in assets under management, we’re delighted Impact Alpha Partners has selected us as a strategic partner for their groundbreaking MEP platform. Together, we aim to deliver thoughtful, long-term ESG strategies designed
specifically for the Australian market.”
Huang concluded: “Nordea’s investment philosophy is already strongly aligned with ours – having demonstrated a long-term history of investing for both alpha and outcomes. We are confident that alignment in our partnership will support better results for our clients”.
* IAP is engaging with prospective clients to test the naming of our innovative approach to targeting improvements in further portfolio outcomes in addition to combining the expertise of specialist managers. The term “Multi-Emulation Portfolio” (MEP) is currently under consideration and may evolve as we continue testing.
